What should I do first if I have been in an accident?

How long can my car be stored with you?
We can keep your vehicle somewhere secure for as long as you reasonably need while you sort out your claim and repairs. We will agree the storage arrangement and cost with you up front, so there are never any surprises. Just keep us posted on what your insurer decides.
Do you carry out damage assessments?
We can recover and store your vehicle and help you get it to a repairer or assessor, but a formal engineer's report is normally arranged through your insurer or a bodyshop. We will point you in the right direction so the assessment happens without delay.
Can I get a replacement vehicle while mine is repaired?
A replacement or courtesy car is usually arranged through your insurance policy or your repairer rather than directly through us. When you call, we will explain how this normally works after an accident so you know what to ask your insurer for.
What if the other driver is uninsured or drove off?
It is stressful, but it is not the end of the road. Try to note the registration and anything you remember, and tell the police. We will still recover your vehicle and keep it safe, and we will explain how an uninsured or hit and run claim is usually handled so you are not left in the dark.
How do I record an accident properly for my claim?
Take photos of all the vehicles, the damage, the road and the positions if you can do so safely. Get the other driver's name, number, registration and insurer. Note the time, place and weather. When you call us we will prompt you through this so nothing important is missed.
Will calling you affect my no-claims bonus?
Calling us to recover your car does not in itself touch your no-claims bonus. Your bonus is affected by the claim you make with your insurer, not by who moves your vehicle. We will help you understand the difference so you can make your decisions with a clear head.
